7. Safe! Guests in 2020 all commented how safe they felt in our covid-safe environment.

8. “Feels like being abroad” with its subtropical climate, Cornwall enjoys more hours of sunshine than other parts of the UK and in the summer, the crystal blue waters, golden sands and beautiful sunshine, make it a dreamy place to stay.

9. The staff! Our team are like a family and are a credit to our park. If you need help at any stage of your visit, they are on hand with a smile.

10. The Cornish air. We’re pretty sure there’s something magical in the air around here.

11. Talking of magic, Cornwall is surrounded by myths and legends, from Cornish Piskies dancing in stone circles, to Giants littering the landscape with boulders thrown in fights, and even mermaids and tales of ghostly galleons. Visit Trevose Head, just a few minutes’ walk from Harlyn Sands, to see where Omfra the Piskie lost his laugh, or St Michael’s Mount on the South West coast of Cornwall, where Cormoron the giant made his wife Cormelian carry heavy stones in her apron pockets to build the mount.

12. The walks. Whether it is harbourside, headland, along the beaches or coastal cliff paths, there’s a walk for everyone. The South West Coastal Path includes a walk from Harlyn Bay to Padstow, with spectacular views and dramatic coastline; this walk is quite long at 6.9miles but passes smugglers caves, sandy beaches and offers places to stop for a refreshing Cornish Cider or delicious cream tea along the way.

13. Did somebody say cider? Cornwall’s largest independent cider (Cyder) farm Healey’s is about a 40 minute drive away where you can take a ride through the orchards on a vintage tractor, learn the art of gin making and become an honouree Cornish Cydermaster and much more!

14. The Eden Project. Arguably Cornwall’s most famous attraction. Spend a day exploring the biomes, outdoor gardens, walk through the rainforest canopy, speed through the sky on England’s longest zip wire and so much more.

15. The history. Cornwall is shrouded in history just waiting to be explored, from the castles and tin mines to the smugglers coves and shipwrecks.

16. Surfing in Harlyn Bay. Somewhat sheltered by Trevose Head, Harlyn Bay is a great place to learn to surf on a decent swell. Harlyn is great for winter surfing with big swells and south-westerly winds.

17. Proper clotted cream tea. If you haven’t tried a delicious freshly baked scone smothered with a massive dollop of Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream and local jam, you are truly missing out! Once tasted, never forgotten.

18. While indulging in your proper cream tea, it would be rude not to try a pot of tea from England’s only tea plantation; Tregothnan near Truro.

19. Padstow. If you love food, particularly fresh seafood, Padstow has to be on your bucket list. Chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth have set up a paradise of restaurants, takeaways and cafes in the beautiful harbour village of Padstow.

20. On the topic of food, Cornish Pasties! Once the staple diet of tin miners who would have both savoury and sweet fillings in one pasty that they would hold in their dirty hands by the crimped edge. Now a must have for everyone who visits the county, although we’ve moved on from serving both savoury and sweet in one pasty.

21. After all that food, you might be wanting to work it off so a bike ride along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line from Padstow to Wadebridge then on to Bodmin taking in the landscapes, scenery and wildlife if North Cornwall. There are plentiful inns, villages and places to stop for a picnic along the way. Bikes can be hired too.
